DBS-cleared carers

Every Primrose carer holds a current enhanced DBS check, two verified references and completed mandatory training before a first visit. We cover the cost, never the carer.

How we recruit

Locally owned, Medway

Our office is in Strood — not a national chain. We know the GP surgeries, the district nurses, and the streets where your parent lives. You'll meet the person who will plan your care.

About Primrose

Three shapes of home care

We start small and add what helps.

Most arrangements look like one of these — a half-hour morning visit, a longer afternoon together, or a continuous live-in presence. The right answer is usually one short conversation, then a free home visit, then a plan we'll change as life changes.

Visiting care, planned around the day you actually have

Half-hour to ninety-minute visits at the times of day that matter — getting up, medication, lunch, the evening settle. Built around the routine your family already has, not the one that suits an agency rota.

  • Help with washing, dressing and personal care
  • Medication prompts and gentle administration
  • Breakfast, lunch or evening meal preparation

Personal + companionship

Personal care + companionship — the longer visit

When a half-hour isn't enough — longer visits that combine practical help with conversation, a walk along the river, or a trip to the GP. Designed for clients who don't want to feel rushed and families who want their parent to feel known.

  • Two-hour, four-hour or half-day visits
  • Mobility help around the home and out and about
  • Companionship, conversation and gentle activity

Live-in & overnight care, when life shifts

A continuous presence — through the day, the night, or both — for clients with more complex needs or families who need respite. Often the alternative to moving into residential care, and almost always the option families wish they'd asked about sooner.

  • Live-in care for one person or a couple
  • Sleeping or waking nights as needs change
  • Recovery support after a hospital stay

Local roots

Strood, the Medway towns, the Hoo Peninsula — this is our patch.

Primrose Community Healthcare is based in Strood, on the western bank of the river opposite Rochester's cathedral and castle. Our home-care visits cover Strood, Frindsbury, Cuxton, Cliffe and the villages out toward the Hoo Peninsula — and across the bridge to Rochester, Chatham and Gillingham.

Being local matters in this work. The carer at the door knows the road, the GP surgery, the district-nurse team, and most of the time, somebody else on the street. That's the point of a small Medway agency rather than a national chain.

In families' words

Placeholder · replace with real quotes
“Two or three quotes from the families you currently support — first names, where in Medway they are, and one sentence on what changed for them. Five minutes on a phone call to capture, and they sit here for the next two years of website visitors.”

Need care for someone you love?

Let's start with a conversation, not a sales pitch.

We'll come to you for a free, no-pressure home visit — usually within a week of your call. We'll tell you honestly what we can offer, what we can't, and roughly what it costs.
